In a country like India, where there is almost a whole traffic of narcotics, it is very easy for the youths to get involved with them. Marijuana, Hashish, Opium, Alcohol etc. are just the evils which have been corrupting the generations for ages. There are millions of teenagers in this country who are addicted to alcohol and have been suffering from the various diseases caused due to the consumption of alcohol. Most of these have had access to the intoxicating substance since their childhood, since they have never had proper guidance or education about alcoholism and drug abuse.
It is due to such evils that the NGO's are said to be fighting a lost battle as the access to these materials are so easy it is almost impossible to block these access points due to the numbers in which they exist. Even in a remote village of a state like Bihar these unauthorized dealers who mostly sell adulterated spirits have been making merry due to the acceptability in those communities. Most of them many a times monopolize the market by being, say, the only alcohol dealer in the society, in the locality, in the village and so on. The more they have the monopoly over the market the more better it is for them.
This is a high time that we all get conscious of this social evil and start fighting against it. Alcoholism is a threat to any family, society or a developing nation. And when it is the foundation of the pillars, on which the country is balanced, get corrupted, it is inevitable that such a nation would definitely fall. Children discover themselves in to a complex society that is undergoing incredible changes. Healthy nutritious foods had suddenly replaced by the new food concept - JUNK FOOD! Children suddenly seem to have stepped into a world of fast foods and vending machines, very ignorant of the mess they are creating for themselves. TV commercials and supermarkets are propagating a broad selection of attractive junk foods, attractively packaged and often tagged with a tempting sop. Through it, we have an extremely seductive situation that undermines eating behavior.
Children are more than ever in danger. Poor diets give rise to slow growth, fall down of new the teeth, endorse obesity and lay out the seeds of ill health, which ultimately lead to incurable disease and death. Mostly these junk foods have colors, which are made with colors; those are often poisonous, carcinogenic and bad for the body.
