Chris MoneyMaker: A journey from the Virtual to the Real

Chris MoneyMaker: A journey from the Virtual to the Real

It was year of 2003, when a young chap who was previously only interested in online poker played unpredictably won the World Series of Poker. This was a journey that he would remember. Beginning at an online casino, and then moving up the ladder and finally playing the world series of poker is a dream of any player. But if someone wins it at the first go, then he must definitely have something in him and Chris MoneyMaker had it in him, to dethrone the champion and take away the crown.

Like any other amateur poker player, Chris had begun his poker career on the Internet playing in several online casinos and trying to understand the game. However, with time, he gained confidence as most people do and started playing tournaments. His first break came when he won a prestigious online tournament and came a step closer to participating in the World Series of Poker and finally after fighting against numerous exceptional players at various online tournaments, Chris made his way to the table at the World Series Of Poker.

As in most cases, he had been put off initially not only because he was an amateur player but also because this was the first time he was taking part in a tournament with seven others at the table. People had written him off by saying he would not have the nerves to play this because playing online is easier, but he taught how the game is played. He made the right decisions on the bluff, made excellent bets and finally got the better of all the players and won the tournament, thereby, being the first player to win the World Series Of Poker. This was indeed a journey from a virtual world of poker to a real world, a journey that Chris will always remember.
