THINGS THAT CAN ANNOY OTHER POKER PLAYERS

THINGS THAT CAN ANNOY OTHER POKER PLAYERS

It must be acknowledged that many poker players are not acquainted with the proper poker etiquettes. This has primarily resulted due to two reasons: one being the fact that those players haven’t spend enough time at a poker table or second, they have mostly participated in online poker games where, one can overcome etiquette issues by signing out of the chat feature.

Professional players always keep in mind the hourly rate of return. Hence, things like taking too long to act or constant interference with the dealer or even forgetting to post blinds and antes cause delays that eventually cost other players their money and patience. The dealer should be efficient to maintain order at a poker table. Even in case of online poker, a player should never try to take control of a situation when a dealer fails to do so. In such cases, the dealer may resort the help of the floorperson. Every player is expected to show proper sportsman spirit at the table. Excessive display of emotion may force other players to quit mid-way.

Players should avoid giving any tips to opponents, especially whom they have defeated, regarding ways of winning. One should ask to see the mucked cards only if they expect conspiracy. This habit might annoy the defeated opponent. Casual conversations are to be avoided at all cost. A player who wins a pot and immediately leaves the table might end up irritating others trying to win their money back. It is also very unprofessional to block up a seat at a table and take long breaks. This is very common in online poker. Speaking on behalf of active players and showing the hand after the hand is complete is also very annoying and should be avoided at all cost.

Some of these things can even annoy players at online poker tables and it must be taken care that these etiquettes are mentioned.
